We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Contracts Administrator to join our growing Legal & Commercial team supporting environmental remediation and water treatment projects across the country, based in the Brisbane office.
Our new Contracts Administrator will provide contracts management support directly to the project teams across QLD, NT and WA with overflow support to other regions as required.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day contract administration support to project teams;
- Assisting the project teams to review and negotiate subcontracts and suppliers’ terms and conditions;
- Negotiating variations and program or delivery issues which arise with clients;
- Preparing and submitting contractual notices, claims and correspondence for EOTs, NODs, and other contractual matters;
- Liaising with and supporting the Legal & Commercial team with contract reviews, managing claims and resolving disputes;
- Undertaking Contract Health Checks, Deep Dives (where required) and Lessons Learned;
- Ensuring project compliance with SOPA and other legislative requirements and all relevant company policies and procedures; and
- Implementing prudent risk management practices and procedures across the business.
ABOUT YOU The successful candidate will be hands-on and team-oriented, willing to embed themselves into the business and become a valued business partner, sharing their knowledge and experience of contracts, to enable sensible and swift, risk based decisions to be made while maintaining prudent risk management practices. To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or studying) in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and/or diploma in Contract Management Administration or Fundamentals or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience in contract administration within a projects business.
- Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of Australian contract law and contract interpretation principles.
- A professional demeanour and solid relationship-building skills.
