We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Dangerous Goods (DG) Specialist to provide technical leadership, compliance oversight, and operational support within a growing bulk haulage business operating across Western Australia.

This role is critical in ensuring the protected, compliant, and efficient transport of dangerous goods, including bulk liquids, explosives, gases, corrosives, and other regulated substances. Working closely with operations, maintenance, training, customers, and regulatory bodies, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for maintaining best-practice dangerous goods management systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert advice on the transport, storage, and handling of Dangerous Goods.

- Ensure compliance with
- Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code
- WA Dangerous Goods Safety legislation
- Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility requirements
- Relevant Environmental and Work Health & Safety legislation

- Develop, review, and maintain DG management systems, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct compliance audits, inspections, and risk assessments across transport operations.
- Manage DG incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Liaise with customers, emergency services, regulators, and industry stakeholders.




- Provide technical guidance for new transport tasks, contracts, and operational changes.
- Review and approve load restraint, segregation, compatibility, and transport documentation requirements.
- Deliver Dangerous Goods awareness and compliance training to employees and contractors.
- Lead compliance initiatives associated with bulk haulage of dangerous goods including tankers, isotainers, explosives, and packaged DG freight.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure business systems remain compliant.

About You To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Extensive experience working within Dangerous Goods transport, logistics, mining, chemical, fuel, ammonia, explosives, or bulk haulage industries.
- Strong knowledge of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying dangerous goods legislation.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while influencing operational and leadership teams.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.

Essential Requirements

- Dangerous Goods Driver Licence and/or DG vocational qualifications highly regarded.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety, Logistics,



Dangerous Goods, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in Dangerous Goods compliance and transport operations.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to travel throughout Western Australia as required.

Highly Desirable

- Experience with bulk transport of:
- Anhydrous Ammonia
- Ammonium Nitrate
- Class 3 Flammable Liquids
- Class 2 Gases
- Mining explosives and blasting products

- Auditor qualifications.
- Incident investigation training (ICAM or equivalent).
- Experience engaging with regulatory authorities and emergency response agencies.
- Previous experience in mining, resources, or remote logistics operations.
