What you'll do

As the Data Collection Officer, you will support the delivery of high-quality health data collections by accurately processing and validating data in accordance with established policies, procedures, legislative requirements and reporting schedules. You will apply quality assurance processes to identify and resolve routine data issues, maintain accurate records and audit trails, and respond to data-related enquiries by providing clear guidance on collection requirements and submission processes. Working collaboratively with colleagues, data providers and stakeholders, you will contribute to data quality and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, risks and opportunities to enhance processes and outcomes.

You will effectively manage competing priorities to meet service standards and deadlines while ensuring compliance with Queensland Health information security, confidentiality, ethical and workplace health and safety requirements. The role also requires active participation in training and professional development activities to maintain and strengthen individual capability.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

- The ability to apply data collection and processing procedures accurately and consistently within established guidelines.
- Sound attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve routine data quality issues, escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Effective communication skills to support positive working relationships and respond clearly to routine data enquiries.
- The ability to manage your own work priorities, meet deadlines and work productively both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn, seek feedback and engage in continuous capability development.




- Ability to acquire skills in classification and coding systems.
