About the role

Extreme Dentistry is a small general dental practice with focus on surgical and prosthodontics procedures in need of a surgically oriented dental nurse. This position is demanding and requires a dental nurse to be fast and efficient. As the practice is small, we are seeking all-rounder who can manage chair-side assisting, reception and sterilising room.

All positions including full time, part time and casual positions are considered depending on the availability and ability to work independently of the applicant.

What you'll be doing

- assisting the dentist during procedures by preparing equipment, handing instruments, and providing patient care and comfort
- performing front front desk duties such as greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and handling payment processing
- ensuring the dental operatory is clean, organised, and well-stocked
- providing excellent customer service and addressing patient inquiries and concerns
- updating and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

What we're looking for

- previous experience as a Dental Nurse or Dental Assistant with minimum 1+ years of experience in surgical dental procedures such as extractions, oral surgery, dental implants, and other surgical procedures
- strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and other team members in a friendly and professional manner
- excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- proficiency in any dental software system to manage patient records and practice operations and office equipment
- keen eyes for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient care
- holders of Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting or a related healthcare field




- candidates without qualifications who demonstrate robust aptitude and motivation
- role modelling behaviour to contribute to positive workplace culture and focus on best outcomes for patients

- cannot follow instructions
- has poor command of English
- is dishonest
- cannot work independently
- is not motivated to learn and improve performance
- prefers a 'clock-in, clock-out' corporate environment: We operate a boutique, single-chair practice where the patient comes first.

This means we don’t live by a rigid 8–5 buzzer. We are looking for a partner who values clinical flow—someone happy to stay a little later to ensure a patient is cared for, or enjoy an early finish on the days the book is light.
