Bomaderry High School is a comprehensive secondary school providing a high-quality public education for the diverse communities north of the Shoalhaven River. As a cornerstone of the Northern Shoalhaven Community of Schools, encompassing Berry PS, Bomaderry PS, Cambewarra PS, Havenlee SSP, Illaroo Road PS, Kangaroo Valley PS, North Nowra PS, and Shoalhaven Heads PS, we are dedicated to a seamless K-12 educational pathway. This purposeful collaboration ensures continuity of learning for every student as they transition through their formal schooling.

Bomaderry High School has a student population of 761, including 20% Aboriginal students. Supported by 80 teaching staff and 30 School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS), the school offers a broad curriculum delivered by expert educators. Our focus on professional excellence is evidenced by a significant number of teachers seeking or attaining accreditation at the Highly Accomplished level.

This culture of authentic collaboration and continuous professional learning has been externally validated in 2025, with the school achieving Excelling across all 14 elements of the School Excellence Framework. Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria, Demonstrated collaborative leadership, working strategically with staff, parents, carers, and the wider community to drive school improvement and ensure alignment with school and department priorities.

Proven ability to lead and support high-quality teaching practices and inclusive learning environments, achieving positive educational outcomes for all students.

Expertise in leading whole-school innovation, curriculum enhancement, and digital integration, while promoting inclusivity and effective systems to support school operations and student learning.

Exceptional communication and organisational skills with a strong capacity to promote the school’s achievements and culture, build positive relationships, and manage competing demands across daily and strategic activities.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs




- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.
