Dermatology Nurse – Part-Time

InnerWest Specialists is a private specialist consulting clinic based in Footscray, providing dermatology and gastroenterology services for patients with both general and complex conditions.

We are seeking a friendly, trustworthy and reliable Registered Nurse to join our busy medical dermatology clinic on a permanent part-time basis. While previous dermatology is advantageous, it is not essential, comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.

This role would suit a nurse who enjoys working in a specialist private practice environment, has strong attention to detail, and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-focused care.

About the Role

Working closely with our dermatologists and practice team, you will support the delivery of safe and effective dermatology care, including assistance with consultations, minor procedures, wound care and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver safe, comprehensive, and effective nursing care
- Assist doctors with medical, and surgical skin treatments
- Provide post-operative wound care and patient follow-up
- Conduct triage and patient assessments
- Manage medical supplies and maintain instrument sterilisation
- Educate and support patients pre- and post-consultation
- Prepare patients for minor dermatological procedures
- Undertake administrative and clinical support tasks as required

Essential Requirements

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered or Enrolled Nurse
- Current working rights in Australia

Desirable

- Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or skin cancer practice
- Familiarity with Genie or similar medical software
- Surgical nursing experience
- Previous private practice experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse
- Patient‑focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities in a busy specialist practice
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance, infection control, safety protocols, and risk management
- Experience with patient management systems; Genie experience highly regarded
- Ability to work collaboratively with doctors
- High level of integrity, discretion and judgement
- Strong understanding of clinical compliance and quality standard

Roster This is a permanent part-time position working a fortnightly rotating roster, averaging 16.25 hours per week.

Week 1

Monday: 8am – 5pm

Wednesday: 8:30am – 1pm

Thursday: 9am – 2pm

Week 2

Monday: 8am – 1pm

Wednesday: 8:30am – 1pm

Thursday: 9am – 2pm

Fortnightly hours: 32.5 hours.
