Bentleigh West Kindergarten Inc. (BWK) is a non-for profit community Kindergarten with an open, friendly and caring environment that allows 3 and 4 Year Old children to learn, grow, develop and explore in their own way. Small class sizes support our creative, imaginative, active and stimulating experiences both indoors and outdoors. BWK offers one 3YO program (two sessions per week – Monday and Tuesday) and three 4YO programs (two sessions per week each rotating across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).

BWK prides itself as being a volunteer-run Kindergarten with an exceeding NQS rating. We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children, including those with a disability, Aboriginal Children and culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. Protecting children from harm and abuse is our absolute priority and embedding the Victorian 11 Childsafe standards in the everyday thinking and practice of all staff members is paramount.

Due to recent minor works, there will be a small overall increase in the number of children in our 3YO and 4YO groups. We are therefore seeking an experienced, passionate and enthusiastic permanent part-time Early Childhood Educator with Diploma qualification to join our team in 2027. You will be working with a qualified Teacher (ECT) and one Educator delivering either a 3YO (25 children)



or 4YO program for up to 26/27 children.

We run a Nature Kinder program for our 4 year old groups in the adjacent park.

This role will require you to work between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm weekdays plus above award planning time, and there will be some flexibility in determining regular days/hours as we plan the roster for next year. Part Time rate of pay will be commensurate with experience and in accordance with the VECTEA 2020/2026 award.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with the Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) to design and deliver enriching, play-based learning programs guided by the National and Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks, supporting the overall development of children.
- Observe and document children's progress, adapting activities to nurture their individual strengths, interests, and needs.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging kindergarten environment that meets all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster strong partnerships with families to support the wellbeing and growth of each child.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development to stay updated with best practices and creative approaches in early childhood education.

Pay: $28.72 – $32.35 per hour
