About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide flexible, individualised support to NDIS participants, assisting them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. You will work across a variety of support environments and play an significant role in delivering high-quality care, promoting independence, and supporting participants in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in a respectful, professional, and caring manner.
- Assist participants with personal care and daily living activities.
- Assist and monitor medication in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support participants to engage in community access, recreational activities, and skill development programs.
- Complete accurate shift notes, documentation, and incident reports within required timeframes.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment.
- Promote participant choice, independence, and dignity at all times.
- Respond appropriately to behaviours of concern and support positive behaviour strategies.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, guardians, support coordinators,
and the wider care team.
- Contribute to risk management and safeguarding practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Disability, Certificate IV in Mental Health, or a related qualification (or be working towards one).(highly desirable)
- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, community services, or a similar field (desirable).
- Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern (highly desirable).
- A strong understanding of the rights, dignity, and individual needs of people living with disability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, resilience, emotional intelligence, and a positive attitude.
- A willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and sleepovers where required.
- Current Queensland Driver Licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
- Current Paid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Yellow Card).
- Current Paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
