Westmead Fertility Centre (WFC) is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. An opportunity now exists for an experienced and values-led healthcare executive to join WFC as Director of Clinical Services .

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Medical Director and Scientific Director, this role will provide executive leadership across WFC’s nursing, counselling and patient-facing clinical services. The position is also responsible for clinical governance, patient safety, quality improvement, workforce capability, clinical risk and accreditation.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Director of Clinical Services will:

- Lead nursing, counselling and patient-facing clinical services.
- Ensure the delivery of secure, high-quality and patient-centred care.
- Shape and implement WFC’s clinical strategy.
- Provide executive oversight of clinical governance, quality, safety and risk.
- Lead accreditation, compliance and continuous improvement activities.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, service performance and patient experience.
- Develop an engaged, capable and high-performing clinical workforce.
- Advise the CEO, Leadership Team,



Board and relevant committees.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, innovation and transformation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Clinical Leadership and Governance

Provide executive oversight of nursing and counselling services, establish high standards of clinical practice and act as an escalation point for complex patient matters, incidents and complaints.

Lead WFC’s clinical governance framework, including clinical risk, incident management, investigations, audits, accreditation, regulatory compliance and organisational learning.

People and Culture

Lead and support the Director of Nursing, Senior Counsellor and other clinical leaders. Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, professional development and succession planning while building a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe culture.

Strategy and Improvement

Translate organisational strategy into initiatives that improve patient care, workforce capability, service performance and clinical outcomes. Lead change programs, service improvements and the introduction of new systems and models of care.

Stakeholder and Resource Management

Build strong relationships with Fertility Specialists, multidisciplinary teams and external partners. Provide oversight of workforce and financial performance while maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.

About You

You will bring





- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is essential.
- Significant senior healthcare leadership experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, quality, patient safety and risk.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary clinical services, organisational performance and workforce capability.
- Experience with accreditation, audit and regulatory compliance.
- Strong financial, workforce planning and change management capability.
- Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative and values-led leadership style.

A postgraduate qualification in healthcare leadership, management, governance or business will be highly regarded. Experience in fertility services, assisted reproductive technology, women’s health or a comparable specialist setting, together with knowledge of RTAC requirements, would be advantageous.
