Adelaide Plains Council are seeking an experienced and motived Engineer to join our team and provide qualified engineering expertise across Council’s infrastructure engineering and asset portfolio.
Based at our Mallala Depot, the Engineer will report to the Manager Engineering & Assets and will apply technical knowledge to a diverse range of projects while working closely with internal teams, developers, contractors and the broader community.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide professional engineering advice and technical support across Council’s infrastructure projects and asset portfolio.
- Developing, reviewing and assessing engineering designs, technical documentation, and project requirements.
- Undertake site inspections, construction monitoring and compliance assessments to ensure works meet approved standards and specifications.
- Providing technical guidance and advice to developers, contractors, consultants and other external stakeholders.
- Support the assessment, delivery and handover of infrastructure assets to Council.
- Investigating complex infrastructure and asset related issues and developing practical, cost-effective solutions for maintenance, renewal and project delivery.
- Providing engineering input into infrastructure planning, asset management and capital works programs.
- Ensuring engineering outcomes comply with legislation, Australian Standards, Council policies and procedures and industry best practice
- Building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful project and service outcomes.
Who we are looking for: The successful applicant will need, at a minimum:
- Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- Local government experience will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in an engineering (or similar) role, with experience in engineering design, infrastructure delivery, construction and asset management.
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation, Australian Standards, engineering principles and industry practices.
- A commitment to delivering high quality, compliant and sustainable infrastructure outcomes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Current National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain).
- Valid and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
