Sydney Grammar School is currently seeking two highly qualified and motivated English Masters (Teachers) for full-time temporary positions commencing in Term I 2027.

- Position 1: Commences in Term I 2027 and concludes at the end of Term III 2027.
- Position 2: Commences in Term I 2027 and concludes at the end of Term II 2027.

The successful candidate will be organised, hard-working and will have excellent interpersonal skills. They must also have a comprehensive knowledge of and experience in Stage 4 and 5 English; junior and senior marking experience is valued, and the ability to teach Preliminary, Advanced and Extension 1 is preferred. The English Master is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning programs in English, fostering students' academic achievement, critical thinking, and communication skills. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, developing teaching resources,



assessing and reporting on student progress, maintaining accurate records, and applying School policies and procedures. As a Tutor, the English Master also provides pastoral care and guidance to students, supporting their wellbeing and personal development while working collaboratively with Housemasters and other senior staff to create a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning workplace.

The English Master plays an active role in the broader life of the School through participation in co-curricular activities, student supervision, staff meetings, parent engagement, assemblies, camps, excursions, and other School events as directed. The position requires a high standard of professionalism, integrity, and care, including safeguarding the confidentiality of School information and conducting all duties in a manner that upholds the School's values and reputation.

Master is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, maintain positive relationships across the School community, and contribute meaningfully to both the academic and co-curricular programs of the School.
