Neko Geelong is looking for an experienced Cafe All-Rounder / Barista to join our team.
We are a Japanese and Asian-inspired cafe in Geelong CBD, looking for someone who is confident with coffee, efficient on the floor and comfortable supporting different areas of the cafe as needed.
This is a genuine all-rounder role rather than a dedicated counter or barista position.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing espresso-based coffee and other beverages
- Covering the coffee station independently when required
- Taking orders and operating POS
- Providing friendly and effective customer service
- Running food and drinks
- Reheating and pressing pre-prepared toasties and wraps
- Clearing tables and maintaining FOH presentation
- Restocking milk, cups, drinks and service supplies
- Preparing FOH for upcoming service periods
- Completing dishes and general cleaning when required
- Assisting with simple kitchen prep and restocking once trained
Who we are looking for The successful candidate should have:
- Previous cafe or hospitality experience
- Barista experience and confidence using a commercial espresso machine
- Good milk texturing and espresso knowledge
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks
- Good organisation and cleanliness
- Reliability and punctuality
- Confidence working independently when required
- A proactive approach during quieter periods
- A willingness to support the wider cafe team
We value people who can recognise what needs to be done and move onto the next task without needing constant direction. When service is quiet, this may include restocking, cleaning, preparing for the next rush, completing dishes or assisting the kitchen team.

- Casual position
- Monday to Friday
- Daytime shifts
- Typical start around 8:30–9:00am
- Hours may vary depending on roster and business needs
Pay Approximately $33–$36 per hour casual + super, depending on experience and capability.
