To support our growth, Smedley's Engineers is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Engineer based in or around Melbourne.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this opening would suit a passionate engineer currently involved in any of the following industries/fields:

- Automotive
- Mechanical
- Heavy Vehicle / Transport / Commercial
- Allied Engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Heavy vehicle testing in line with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs), Australian Standards or other requirements where appropriate.
- Heavy vehicle certification in line with the above.
- Field work where required in order to achieve the above.

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Must have experience in Heavy Vehicle Industry
- Bachelor of Engineering; Mechanical or equivalent is desirable
- Strong automotive engineering experience
- Solid understanding of engineering whole vehicle systems
- Ideally experienced in trucks/commercial vehicle engineering
- Understanding of regulations and certifications
- Knowledge of certification testing and procedures
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written for communicating with clients and colleagues
