The Role

n

The Production Lead provides high level support for ABC News teams, with accountability across people leadership, workforce planning, financial management, risk and business operations. As part of a national team, you'll drive continuous improvement, strengthen operational capability and build a positive, high-performing culture that supports the delivery of trusted journalism.

The Job

n

n
- Lead and develop a team of Production Coordinators, fostering a collaborative, inclusive and accountable culture.
n
- Provide operational advice and support to News leaders, helping ensure efficient content production and business continuity.
n
- Lead financial management activities including reporting, forecasting, budget monitoring, variance analysis, procurement, invoicing and financial advice to support decision making.
n
- Oversee workforce planning, onboarding, recruitment and rostering activities to ensure teams are supported with the right capability at the right time.
n
- Manage production risk assessments, health and safety administration, and compliance processes to support protected and effective operations.
n
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives that enhance systems, processes and service delivery.
n
- Collaborate with stakeholders to solve complex challenges and deliver practical outcomes.

You'll have:

- Demonstrated capability or experience leading teams in a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing environment.

- Strong operational leadership skills, with experience across workforce planning, business operations, recruitment, onboarding or service delivery in a complex organisation.
n
- Strong financial, administrative and workforce coordination skills, including experience with budgeting, procurement, rostering and onboarding processes.
n
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities, influence stakeholders and deliver practical outcomes
n
- Experience identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working, with a focus on efficiency, consistency and service excellence.
n
- A commitment to fostering a positive team culture and creating an environment where people feel supported, valued and empowered to succeed.
