Sekisui House Australia is seeking an experienced, bilingual (English/Japanese) Factory Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing operations in Ingleburn . This pivotal role bridges the gap between our local Australian operations and our parent company in Japan, ensuring the seamless production and delivery of our premium SHAWOOD homes.
As a Factory Supervisor, you will direct extensive operational areas to increase profitability, manage a diverse team, and maintain our unique supply chain. You will act as a critical communication pipeline, translating corporate objectives into local operational success while ensuring complete compliance with Australian regulations.
Key Responsibilities Factory & Operations Management
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the Ingleburn factory, including manufacturing management, detailing management, and process improvement.
- Implement an operational strategy that ensures homes are delivered on time, within agreed budgets, and according to strict forecasts.
- Analyse and manage workflow functions to meet financial targets, driving action planning, execution, budgeting, and financial controls.
- Analyse local and international economic and technical trends relating to the SHAWOOD product range in the Australian market.
Supply Chain & Procurement
- Build and manage a specialized supplier and corporate trade base that aligns with SHAWOOD’s unique premium quality offerings.
- Procure, prepare, and manage exclusive executive supply and manufacturer agreements aligned with the SHAWOOD brand.
- Identify supplier inefficiencies within the product range and collaborate with supervisors and suppliers to resolve them.
- Monitor supplier cost allocation and ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry best practices.
International Liaison & Governance
- Provide a seamless communication pipeline to structure relationships between local employees and Sekisui House Ltd, Japan.
- Liaise and report closely with parent company officials, preparing detailed reports, forecasts, and advising on global corporate objectives.
- Assist Directors of Sekisui House Australia to improve the SHAWOOD business footprint in Australia.
- Ensure all legal conditions and document accuracy conform to both internal corporate policies and external Australian law.
People & Culture
- Manage and develop staff (both local and external), guiding their career progression and daily performance.
- Provide necessary leadership to ensure staff comply with all relevant Australian government regulations.
- Identify and maintain strong relationships with senior staff to collectively improve business productivity.
Essential Criteria To Be Successful In This Role, You Must Possess
- Extensive procurement experience and long-term knowledge within the residential housing industry
- Qualified fluency in Japanese and English (business level minimum) with the ability to communicate technical, verbal, and written information effectively to both local and international stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of Japanese business protocol and corporate etiquette.
