Nutworks is a proud, 100% Australian owned, supplier of macadamia nut in shell, kernel, flavoured nut products and macadamia confectionary. Nutworks processes approximately 10% of the Australian macadamia crop at our original purpose-built facility located in Yandina on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, supported by a second factory in Cooroy, and a dedicated de-husking site in Bundaberg. Our crop is dried, sized, cracked and sorted for supply to domestic and international buyers as Nutworks branded bulk, and retail packaged goods.
We are excited to announce that a full time Factory Maintenance Supervisor position at Nutworks Yandina has become available for Day Shift between 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday with occasional additional call-outs if necessary.
Position Overview & Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of all machinery, plant infrastructure, and services within the macadamia nut and food processing facility. This role leads a team of maintenance staff and contractors to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Due to the nature of your role and responsibilities,
you may be required to engage with the workplace and/or a third party outside of business hours, from time to time.
● Prioritise, develop and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for all equipment and infrastructure at Yandina and Cooroy factory sites.
● Coordinate and supervise reactive maintenance tasks to minimize production disruption.
● Ensure timely completion of all maintenance work orders and service reports.
● Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and critical equipment.
● Monitor equipment performance and analyse breakdown trends to implement long-term solutions.
● Recommend and manage capital improvement projects or equipment upgrades.
● Collaborate with production and QA teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment sanitisation and design for food safety.
● Source and liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to obtain quality and cost-effective support.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES:
- Permanent Working Rights in Australia
- Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, or similar).
- Current Driver's licence
- Current Forklift licence
- Food Manufacturing knowledge or relevant industry experience
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record of success.
- Strong working knowledge of automated processing equipment, conveyors, dryers, packaging machinery, and utilities (e.g. air compressors).
- Familiarity with preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Experience in a continuous food manufacturing environment.
- Excellent computer literacy and shows proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Team player with superb interpersonal skills.
- Proven understanding of WHS and food safety compliance requirements.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both in a team and independently.
- Detail and accuracy oriented.
- Deadline driven with the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Evidence of highly developed organisational and analytical skills.
- Display exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
