Role Description The Financial & Commercial Analyst is a full-time role playing a critical role in Grex’s strategy and advisory engagements by delivering high-quality financial analysis, modelling, and commercial insights to inform client and internal decision-making. The role works closely with senior Grex consultants and leadership,



contributing to a variety of different engagement types including technical due diligence, investment analysis, and strategic reviews. This role is suited to a mid-level analyst with strengths in critical thinking, problem-solving and the application of financial modelling and commercial analysis skills to complex and dynamic problems.

To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable working with clients, senior stakeholders, technical colleagues and people with a range of background expertise to refine and solve problems.

The Financial & Commercial Analyst applies structured problem-solving, rigorous analytical techniques, and clear communication to translate complex financial information into practical, decision-ready insights

This position requires robust technical capability in financial analysis and modelling, combined with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and operate effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment. Self-management, direction and the ability and inclination to challenge assumptions, manage delivery risks and to work with others are key expectations of this role.

You will confidently act as a trusted advisor within the business, with a solid grounding in financial modelling, business case development, and strategic analysis, and be comfortable working across complex infrastructure, telecommunications, government and utilities projects.



You will be eager to identify opportunities to apply and transfer your skills in new contexts, sectors and for new challenges.

Experience in telecommunications will be particularly useful for this role, though is not essential. Experience in transferrable and adjacent sectors such as data centres, technology investment and systems transformation, will be highly regarded.

Core Requirements and Qualifications

Essential

- A tertiary qualification in finance, economics, commerce, accounting, engineering or a related analytical discipline; or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.

Desirable

- Progress toward, or completion of, a recognised professional qualification: CA, CPA or CFA.
- Post-graduate qualification in finance, infrastructure, economics or business administration.

Working Arrangements

- The Financial & Commercial Analyst will report to the Director, Operations and Delivery.
- Full-time role, ordinarily based in Sydney or Melbourne at Grex Consulting offices, with flexibility for hybrid/remote working as agreed.
- Occasional attendance at client offices may be required for client engagements.
- Standard hours are 8 hours per day; additional reasonable hours may be required to meet business-critical milestones.
- Objectives, development goals and performance expectations will be agreed during onboarding and reviewed regularly as part of Grex’s performance framework.
