Shield Education is seeking a casual First Aid and CPR Trainer/Assessor to join our team in Ipswich.

This role would suit someone who already holds the required qualifications but may be new to delivering training and assessment. Previous experience as a First Aid trainer is not essential. We are happy to train and support the right person in our systems, assessment processes and course delivery.

The position will begin with occasional casual work as bookings arise, primarily workplace and group training, with some classes delivered from our Ipswich training premises. As our First Aid and CPR bookings continue to grow, additional hours may become available to the right person.

Duties The role may include:

- Delivering and assessing HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Delivering and assessing HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
- Conducting practical First Aid and CPR assessments
- Delivering workplace and group training
- Occasionally delivering classes from our Ipswich training location
- Completing assessment records and required RTO documentation
- Following Shield Education’s training, assessment and compliance procedures
- Providing professional, practical and engaging training to students
- Travelling to workplace training locations when required

Essential requirements

Applicants must have

- A current TAE Training and Assessment qualification
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications
- A current Blue Card
- A current Australian driver licence
- A reliable vehicle
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional and reliable approach
- Confidence working with individuals and groups




- A willingness to learn and follow Shield Education’s systems and procedures

Experience Previous experience delivering First Aid and CPR training is not required.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have completed their TAE and hold current First Aid and CPR qualifications but have not yet had the chance to gain much experience as a trainer.

We can provide support and guidance to help the successful applicant become confident with our delivery and assessment processes.

Hours

This is a casual position with variable hours.

Work will initially be offered as confirmed bookings arise, so there are no guaranteed weekly hours at this stage.

As Shield Education continues to grow its workplace and group training, more hours may be offered to the right person.

Some travel within Ipswich and surrounding areas will be required for workplace bookings.
