About the role

Resimac is seeking a sharp, detail-focused Fraud Analyst to join our Operations team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a naturally investigative mindset who enjoys getting into the detail, asking the right questions and pushing back where something doesn't add up.

You'll be on the front line of identifying and assessing suspicious activity, working closely with financial institutions, internal teams and customers to investigate and resolve fraud-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate and assess suspected fraud cases with strong attention to detail, identifying inconsistencies and red flags in customer and transaction information.
- Confidently make and take phone calls to customers and financial institutions to verify information and progress investigations.
- Ask probing questions and push back where responses don't stack up, without losing sight of a good customer experience.
- Liaise with banks, lenders and other financial institutions to gather information relevant to fraud investigations.

- Apply lending knowledge to understand the context behind transactions and customer behaviour, helping identify what looks unusual.
- Document investigation findings clearly and accurately, maintaining thorough case records.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls, contributing ideas as the team and function continue to evolve.
- Work adaptably in a new and growing team, comfortable with change as ways of working are refined.

About you

- 3+ years' experience in fraud, financial crime, banking or a related field;
- Knowledge of AML laws and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A naturally investigative mindset and comfortable identifying inconsistencies.
- Good phone manner, with experience or confidence dealing with financial institutions.
- A lending background is preferred, as it makes it easier to understand the business and the context behind cases.
- Comfortable working in a recent team, with a focus on process improvement and adaptability as the role evolves.
