SALARY $82,000 plus superannuation Multiple roles available DUTIES
Daily Care and Support
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and manage dietary needs.
- Help with household tasks like cleaning, laundry, shopping, and budgeting.
- Support safe mobility, transfers, and physical therapy exercises.
Health and Wellbeing
- Administer medication safely according to prescribed guidelines.
- Monitor health conditions, respond to medical emergencies, and provide first aid.
- Offer emotional support, active listening, and daily companionship.
- Plan and organize social, recreational, and community activities to promote independence.
Planning and Administration
- Assess individual client needs and help develop personal care plans.
- Record daily progress notes, track behavior goals, and maintain compliance documents.
- Communicate updates and coordinate care with family members, caseworkers, and health professionals. REQUIRED SKILLS
· Communication skills – communicating clearly and respectfully with residents, families, colleagues and external professionals.
· Interpersonal and relationship-building skills – developing appropriate, trusting and professional relationships with residents.
· Personal care skills – assisting residents with daily living activities such as hygiene, dressing, meals and routines where required.
· Behaviour support and de-escalation – responding calmly to challenging behaviour, conflict, distress or emotional situations.
· Empathy and patience – understanding individual needs while maintaining professional boundaries.
· Observation and assessment skills – recognising changes in behaviour, wellbeing,
health or safety and reporting concerns appropriately.
· Medication and health support – assisting with medication and health-related routines where authorised and appropriately trained.
· Documentation and report writing – maintaining accurate case notes, incident reports, progress notes and other care records.
· Risk management and safeguarding – identifying risks, following child/vulnerable-person protection procedures and responding appropriately to incidents.
· Crisis-management skills – remaining calm and following procedures during emergencies or behavioural incidents.
· Teamwork – working effectively with other care staff, managers, social workers, health professionals and support services.
· Planning and organisational skills – managing routines, appointments, activities, transport and competing responsibilities. · Cultural awareness and sensitivity – providing respectful support to people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
· Confidentiality and qualified boundaries – appropriately handling personal and sensitive information.
· Problem-solving and decision-making – responding appropriately to changing circumstances while following organisational policies and individual care plans.
· Resilience and emotional self-management – remaining professional when working in stressful or emotionally demanding situations. The required qualification is Completion of Diploma in Community services Experience
· equivalent to at least 12 months full-time work;
· gained within the 5 years recently; · in the occupation or a related field at the same skill level; and
· it can be full-time, part-time or casual, but part-time/casual work must add up to the equivalent of 12 months full-time.
