We're looking for a General Manager to run the business day to day and lead us into our next chapter.

About Goodbyes

Goodbyes is a fashion resale destination with five stores across Victoria, Canberra and Tasmania. Since 2015 we've made selling a wardrobe effortless, and built stores people love to shop: quality secondhand fashion, from designer and on-trend to unique and timeless pieces, discovered in the real world.

The role

You'll own the P&L;, lead the leadership team and Store Managers, and connect strategy to execution across every location. Goodbyes is a two-sided business: a resale service for the people who sell with us and a retail destination for shoppers to discover thousands of unique pieces each week. You'll own performance on both sides.

You'll work as a true operating partner to our two founders, taking full ownership of the day-to-day so they can shift their focus to growth and strategy. It's a strategic and hands-on role: high-level leadership, with a willingness to step into the detail when it matters.

Day to day, you'll:

- Own business performance and the operating rhythm.
- Build and lead a high-performing team across office and stores, and own how we hire, onboard, train and develop people.
- Hold consistent standards across customer experience,



supply and store execution.
- Own, co-design and embed the tools, systems and standards set across the business.
- Lead the operational delivery of new store openings.

About You

You're a senior multi-site operator who has owned a P&L;, led leaders and built the structure a growing business needs. You're commercially minded, with a genuine interest in fashion and in resale, a high-growth category, and the chance to take one of Australia's first resale businesses into its next chapter. It's a role for a leader who wants to put their mark on an established business with significant room to grow, working in collaboration with its founders.

Ideally you have 5+ years' senior leadership experience in a national or multi-site retail or service-led business, a track record of commercial results, experience building people infrastructure and systems in a scaling environment, and confidence using data and technology to drive outcomes.

Details

Full time, permanent, Melbourne-based with interstate travel. Salary negotiable based on experience, plus a performance-based bonus tied to agreed KPIs.
