What you’ll do:
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver geotechnical investigations, assessments, designs, and field-based services for major mining and rail clients across Australia.
You will be involved in both office-based technical work and regular site travel, gaining exposure to large-scale mining developments, brownfield expansions, tailings facilities, bulk earthworks, and heavy haul rail infrastructure.
- Planning and supervising geotechnical site investigations and field programs.
- Logging and interpreting geotechnical drill core and field data.
- Undertaking geotechnical assessments for mining and heavy haul rail projects.
- Supporting the design of earthworks, embankments, rail formations, cuttings,
and foundations.
- Conducting slope stability, settlement, groundwater, and earthworks assessments.
- Preparing technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Providing construction support and field verification services.
- Working closely with civil, structural, rail, water, and mining engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
- Building solid client relationships and contributing to project delivery excellence.
- Travelling to remote mine sites and rail corridors across Western Australia as required.
About you:
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering geotechnical engineering projects within the mining, resources, or transport sectors.
- Experience with site investigations, drilling programs, and field supervision.
- Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and interpretation techniques.
- Experience with earthworks, mining infrastructure, heavy haul rail, or bulk materials projects is highly regarded.
- Strong technical report-writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on site and collaboratively within multidiscipline teams.
- A willingness to travel and spend time in the field supporting project delivery.
