About the Role
We are looking for a practical, organised and safety-focused Grounds and Maintenance Manager to keep our resort operating reliably and presenting at its best. Reporting to the Resort Manager, you will lead the grounds team and oversee the maintenance of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, plant and equipment.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining day-to-day maintenance with forward planning. You will coordinate planned and reactive work, manage contractors and service providers, maintain asset records and budgets, and work closely with the broader resort team to create a clean, safe and welcoming environment for guests.
You will be responsible for:
- Lead, roster, coach and develop the grounds team to deliver safe, efficient and guest-focused services.
- Maintain the resort’s grounds, gardens, communal areas, cabins and facilities to high presentation and operational standards.
- Develop and maintain asset registers and short- and long-term maintenance plans that support asset longevity.
- Prioritise and coordinate planned,
reactive and urgent maintenance with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
- Engage and supervise contractors, ensuring inductions, insurance, documentation and safety approvals are current before work begins.
- Manage departmental budgets, plant, tools, materials, timesheets and reporting in partnership with the Resort Manager.
- Champion environmental health and safety requirements, including incident reporting, safe work practices and correct PPE use.
- Provide hands-on operational support and participate in an on-call roster as required
What You'll Bring to the Team You are a capable and approachable leader who enjoys being on the tools while also planning ahead. You take pride in well-maintained spaces, set clear priorities and build a team culture where safety, accountability and the guest experience come first.
- Significant experience in building, facilities or maintenance planning and delivery, together with practical grounds maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of building trades such as plumbing, electrical, flooring, roofing and carpentry.
- Experience managing contractors, service providers and compliance documentation.
- Proven team leadership skills, including rostering, coaching, performance management and developing others.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, administration and budget management skills.
- Confidence using workforce, safety and contractor management systems, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- A current New South Wales Driver Licence and the flexibility to work outdoors, undertake physical tasks and respond to operational needs
This is a permanent full-time position where the applicant must have current First Aid, CPR and Working with Children before commencing. This role requires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, school holidays, and other peak trading periods. Why Join Us?
