As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in contributing to the organisation’s commitment to sustainable practices and safety standards, with a primary focus on our power transmission projects. You will support the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s management systems across project sites, ensuring compliance with legislation, contractual obligations, and relevant ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct HSE inspections, surveillance audits, and incident investigations at various project sites.
- Provide practical HSE advice, compliance support, and safety guidance to management, supervisors, and field crews across power transmission projects.
- Manage comprehensive HSE documentation, compliance tracking, and administrative workflows, ensuring project management systems and records are meticulously maintained.
- Review, process, and track contractor and subcontractor HSE documentation (such as safety plans, SWMS, and JSEAs) within required project timeframes.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of project HSE Management Plans and safety systems in line with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Facilitate risk management activities, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and the ongoing development and maintenance of risk registers.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of project inductions, Toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training initiatives.
- Support broader workplace health initiatives, including assisting with Return-to-Work processes, incident reporting, and equipment calibration tracking.
- Provide secondary administrative support for quality management functions, including document control, compliance tracking,



and continuous improvement initiatives.

Please note that while this role is primarily based in our Melbourne office located in Southbank, you will be required to undertake periodic travel to various project sites across Victoria as needed. Qualifications & Experience The preferred candidates will hold the following:

- Relevant qualifications in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental compliance, risk assessment, and sustainability planning.
- Previous experience working on power transmission, high-voltage, or similar large-scale energy infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Certifications in relevant environmental or safety fields.
- Valid Driver Licence and White Card (Mandatory).

Skills & Abilities

- High-level organisational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to comfortably manage heavy documentation and administrative workloads.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, including an understanding of risk management, hazard identification, and control measures specific to the energy and transmission sector.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams when required.
