Lead a small team supporting a participant to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own home. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows that a solid team is the foundation of good support.
You report to the Operations Manager, lead a team of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers day to day, and combine active support work with House Supervisor responsibilities. Internally we call this role House Coordinator.
Your impact, for your participant
- Provide active, on-floor support for participant
- Build genuine, trusting relationships with the participant, their family and care professionals, championing person-centred care in everything you do
- Make sure their service plan and goals are actively supported and delivered
- Foster an environment that feels like home: safe, clean, supportive, and full of opportunities for the participant to make memories every day
- Promote safety, wellbeing and inclusion, making sure your team understands and upholds MMT Care’s safeguarding responsibilities
For your team
- Lead, mentor and coach Support Workers and Senior Support Workers, building a strong, positive culture
- Run regular team meetings and monthly documented one-on-one mentoring sessions, and guide new staff through onboarding
- Be the first point of contact for your team and for the participant’s family and care team
Day to day
- Build the fortnightly roster and keep it filled, compliant and within budget
- Oversee house operations and make sure documentation meets NDIS and MMT Care standards
- Maintain oversight of incident reporting, shift documentation and WHS standards
About you You lead with empathy and integrity, and you are comfortable managing the competing priorities that come with running a home. You are organised, steady under pressure, and you care about both the person you support and the people you supervise.
You will bring
- Certificate IV or above in Disability, or a relevant qualification or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years supporting people with complex needs or high support requirements
- At least 2 years supervising or managing a team, including rostering and coaching
- You explain things clearly, whether you are briefing a Support Worker or updating the participant’s family or care team
- You stay calm and think clearly when something unexpected happens
- You juggle competing priorities without dropping any of them
- You are confident using technology and managing documentation and reporting systems
Before you can start
- A cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR Qualification
- A current Australian driver licence
What we offer
- $40.62 to $46.93 per hour plus 12% super
- Weekend, evening and public holiday work is paid at the SCHADS penalty rates on top of your base rate
