Centenary State High School is seeking a highly organised and proactive Teaching Staff Supervisions and Human Resources Officer (AO4) to coordinate the school's daily teaching staff supervision program and provide human resources administration support.

The primary responsibility of this position is the coordination of teaching staff absences and daily supervision arrangements to ensure continuity of learning and the effective operation of the school. Human resources administration functions are undertaken as a secondary responsibility.

This is a fast-paced operational role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic secondary school environment.

Your prospect:

The role coordinates the school's daily supervision program, including teaching staff absences, replacement teachers, internal relief, operational adjustments and communication of supervision arrangements. It also provides HR administration support across recruitment, onboarding, workforce records and compliance activities.

Teaching Staff Supervision Coordination (Primary Function)

- Coordinate the end-to-end management of planned and unplanned teaching staff absences, including processing absences through OneSchool, SharePoint and TRACER and arranging replacement teachers through approved departmental processes.
- Coordinate daily supervision and internal teacher relief arrangements, including class and duty coverage,



room changes and the allocation of staff in line with school processes and operational requirements.
- Prepare, publish and communicate daily supervision arrangements and provide supervision documentation and resources to replacement teachers.
- Monitor supervision arrangements throughout the day, respond to emerging staffing requirements, maintain accurate supervision records, reports and workforce data, and liaise with Deputy Principals, Heads of Department and other staff regarding operational requirements.
- Escalate significant staffing risks and operational issues to the relevant Deputy Principal when required, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of supervision systems, procedures and workforce planning practices.

Human Resources Administration (Secondary Function)

- Provide human resources administrative support in accordance with Department of Education policies and procedures.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, onboarding and induction processes for new and temporary employees.
- Maintain employee records, staffing documentation and workforce data.
- Support leave administration and staff establishment processes.
- Coordinate access, equipment and induction resources for new employees.
- Assist with workforce planning and staffing administration activities.
- Support compliance requirements associated with human resources management.
- Prepare routine reports, correspondence and documentation relating to staffing and workforce administration.

Operational Support

- Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with staff and stakeholders.




- Manage communication relating to teaching staff supervision arrangements, workforce administration and operational requirements.
- Maintain staffing-related systems, records and databases.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to workforce management and administrative processes.
- Undertake professional development and training activities to maintain current knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, systems and workforce management practices, and to support ongoing capability development relevant to the role.
- Undertake other administrative duties as directed by the Business Manager.

Skills and Experience

- Experience in workforce coordination, staffing, rostering or HR support, preferably within a secondary school or education environment.
- Experience coordinating teaching staff supervision, workforce planning and staffing allocations, with the ability to respond to changing requirements.
- Experience using OneSchool, TRACER, SharePoint or similar workforce management systems, with knowledge of Department of Education processes and teacher relief arrangements.
- Strong organisation, communication and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
