Location: Tamworth, NSW THE OPPORTUNITY

COULD THIS BE YOU? We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused professional to work collaboratively with the WHS Team to support the effective implementation of Council's WHS systems, policies and programs. You will provide practical, field-based support across a diverse range of operational areas, assisting business units to identify and manage risks, maintain compliance and contribute to a safe and healthy workplace for employees, contractors and visitors.
The WHS Advisor is responsible for:
- Supporting the WHS Team in monitoring health and safety compliance across the whole organisation;
- Identifying, recording and reporting hazards, incidents and injuries, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with relevant stakeholders;
- Assisting in investigating workplace incidents, analysing contributing factors and recommending practical corrective and preventative actions;
- Conducting health and safety training sessions for management, supervisors and workers;
- Coordinating emergency preparedness, response procedures and first aid arrangements across the organisation;
- Undertaking special WHS projects and improvement initiatives as directed by the WHS Team Leader;
- Assisting with the development of business unit WHS plans and monitoring compliance;
- Inspecting workplaces, related tools and equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety or similar qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
- WHS Construction Induction Card
- Current Driver Licence
- Willingness to undergo required immunisations including Hepatitis, Tetanus and Q Fever

Salary range:
Grade 12 - $78,038.27 - $84,440.58 per annum plus 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation. Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
