Join the Information Access team at Redcliffe Hospital and play an important role in supporting the lawful and timely release of health information to government agencies, legal representatives, insurers and members of the public. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in information access legislation while working within a critical function of Health Information Services.
Working closely with senior staff, you will process requests for information, interpret legislation and policies relating to confidentiality and information disclosure, and liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The role combines analytical thinking, customer service and attention to detail to ensure information is released accurately, securely and within required timeframes.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Process requests for the release of information in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and confidentiality requirements.
Interpret and communicate information contained within patient records and hospital information systems to authorised external parties.
Provide high-level administrative and operational support to ensure information access requests are prioritised and completed within required timeframes.
Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills when working with healthcare professionals, government agencies,
legal representatives and members of the public.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, reporting activities and the ongoing development of efficient information access systems and processes.
