About the role The Director, Digital Education is a senior leadership role that leads and manages the Digital Education portfolio. They will lead the continued provision and development of programs that deliver on the university’s commitment for educational excellence to students and staff, and, through consultation with academic areas, lead the university’s development of education innovation programs. They provide strategic and operational direction for curriculum renewal activities that enable academic areas to meet the intention of UNE’s strategic plan and oversee projects to improve digital education capability and confidence across the institution.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent combination of qualifications and extensive experience) with demonstrated senior leadership experience in the higher education sector, including leading teams and managing resources.
- Demonstrated high-level experience in creating and implementing innovative digital based educational processes or programs across academic areas.
- Demonstrated ability to build a collaborative, team-based approach to educational excellence across academic and professional areas, fostering shared accountability for academic and student outcomes.
About the Education Futures Division The purpose of the Education Futures division is to drive academic excellence in a manner consistent with UNE’s objectives to be a leader in the design, practice and delivery of online education, and an acknowledged provider of research and scholarship which addresses issues of importance in a regional context. UNE must be identified as an organisation that successfully deploys digital technologies to support educational access and student success.
Education Futures exists as a business unit to provide both leadership and partnership functions in the design of academic and educational enterprise with faculties and skilled areas across all learning, teaching and assessment and, quality enhancement and assurance activities.
