The IT Business Partner serves as the strategic link between Group IT and business operations where this role will represent IT on the regional MD’s senior management team. As part of the Group IT function, the role works closely with an assigned business unit to understand its priorities and identify the right technology solutions to support them.

The IT Business Partner will champion IT standards and processes as well as helping to shape and prove any business value from any IT solution proposed and implemented within their assigned business operation.

This role will be an enabler for all potential IT projects from the business unit and will represent those project requests in any triage, approval or prioritisation forum that forms part of the IT demand and pipeline process.

Organisational Structure The business partner will report to the CIO with dotted line to the regional MD’s of either the Water or Climate Divisional companies siting in the IT Leadership Team/ BU SLT.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Alignment &

- Business Engagement

- Act as the primary IT liaison for the business unit.
- Understand business unit strategy, priorities, and challenges, ensuring they are represented within Group IT decision-making.
- Support the adoption of Group-wide frameworks, standards, and strategic decisions, ensuring consistent uptake across the business unit.

Project &

- Portfolio Management

- Provide an oversight to any projects impacting or supporting their assigned business unit.




- Act as initial escalation on any concerns relating to project requests or in-flight activities
- Support and guide project managers, ensuring successful deployment and realised value.

Governance, Compliance &

- Standards

- Ensure the business unit utilises Group-approved solutions, platforms, and architectures (e.g., SAP, Workday).
- Promote the adoption of standardised processes and prevent the creation of duplicate or non-compliant solutions.
- Support master data management initiatives and ensure adherence to Group IT security, compliance, and change-management practices.

Business Case, Change &

- Analysis Support

- Work with business stakeholders to prepare business cases, change requests, and supporting evidence for updates or enhancements to Group IT platforms.
- Submit requests through the correct Group IT governance pathways (e.g., CAB, SARB) and monitor progress.
- Conduct business analysis to translate business needs into well-structured requirements aligned with Group IT capabilities.

Stakeholder &

- Vendor Engagement (within Group governance)

- Ensure all vendor engagement, procurement, or software evaluation requests are routed through the appropriate Group IT functions.
- Reinforce compliance with the Group’s vendor, procurement, and solution-selection rules.

Role Boundaries

This Role Does Not

- Form part of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd line service desk function
- Develop, maintain, or configure Group IT platforms or software.
- Procure, select, or independently evaluate IT platforms or vendors.





Essential Requirements &

- Experience

- Have a good understanding of Project life cycle and standards (such as APM)
- Strong background in IT business analysis, ideally beginning in a Business Analyst role
- Proven experience operating in federated or matrix organisations
- Demonstrable experience building business cases and managing formal change requests.
- Expertise in deploying standardised processes across decentralised or non-standard environments.
- Strong understanding of change management principles and techniques.
- Ability to regularly travel to various geographical location across Genuit Group

Desirable

- Experience gained as a Solution, Data or Enterprise Architect
- Experience of having worked in an ERP environment
- Manufacturing sector experience
