ICT Project Support Officer | 12-Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced ICT Project Support Officer to join a high-performing Cyber Security, Cloud, and Networks Branch within a major Federal Government department. This role plays an integral part in providing planning, development, and implementation services in support of the Department’s Cyber area, to work within large project teams assisting with risk and issue management, scheduling, resource management and reporting, excelling at task management and documentation.
Eligibility & Location Requirements
- Security Clearance: An active NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) security clearance is mandatory.
- Location: This is a strictly Canberra-based role. Candidates must be able to work on-site 5 days a week in the office if requested, noting Hybrid arrangements may be possible after commencement. Remote or interstate-based candidates will not be considered.
- Rate: $110 per/hr including super
About the Role
The role of IT Project Support Officer to work within large project teams assisting with risk and issue management, scheduling, resource management and reporting, excelling at task management and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
The specified personnel will work across operational tasks and be confident in representing the cyber operations section when engaging with other teams across the ICT division,
with an ability to foster good rapport and working relationships with technical stakeholders. Additionally, the specified personnel will take ownership of and deliver small work packages with autonomy and minimal supervision, possessing a keen eye for detail and strong work ethic.
Essential Criteria
1. Demonstrated experience in supporting large project teams, particularly in risk and issue management, scheduling, resource management, and reporting.
2. Flexibility and resilience to work across multiple project and operational objectives concurrently.
3. High quality and accuracy in task execution and documentation.
4. Proven ability to take ownership of small work packages and deliver them with autonomy, requiring minimal supervision.
5. Robust interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster good rapport and working relationships.
6. An understanding of cyber security technologies and principles.
