Copper Coast Chef – Wallaroo, Copper Coast

Copper Coast Chef is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Junior Kitchen Hand | General All Rounder to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone who is organised, hardworking, willing to learn and keen to be part of a small, supportive team.

The Opportunity

Do you have an interest in food and cooking and want the opportunity to learn more?

Perhaps you already love sushi, enjoy being in the kitchen, or are simply looking for an opportunity to develop new skills and gain hands-on experience in hospitality.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll assist our Chef, Cook and kitchen team with food preparation, kitchen organisation, stock, cleaning, catering and day-to-day production.

And, of course, there will be some of the job every kitchen loves — washing dishes!

Previous kitchen experience is outstanding, but it isn’t essential. For the right person with a positive attitude and willingness to learn, we are happy to provide on-the-job training.

Copper Coast Chef began as a passion-led offering and has grown into a trusted local business with an expanding customer base across the Copper Coast. Over time, we have broadened our range to cater for a diverse clientele, offering fresh sushi, wholesome Meals to Go, grab-and-go options, catering, grazing platters and boxes, and flexible food solutions for busy families, workplaces, events and community groups.

About the Role

No two days are necessarily the same. Depending on our production and catering schedule,



you may be involved in:

Assisting with food preparation, including vegetables, meat, fish and poultry

Assisting with sushi and Meals to Go production

Preparing salads, sandwiches and other catering items

Setting up the kitchen for production

Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment

Keeping kitchen and work areas clean, organised and safe

Receiving, checking and putting away stock

Assisting our Chef, Cook and kitchen team with day-to-day tasks

Assisting with catering and function setup, food service and pack-down

Following food safety, hygiene, infection prevention and workplace health and safety procedures

Completing relevant food safety and quality assurance documentation

About You

- Are willing to learn to work independently as your skills and confidence grow
- Have flexibility to work weekdays and occasional weekends or public holidays when required

Previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or food-service environment is preferred but not essential, as on-the-job training will be provided.

Requirements

Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain

Working with Children Check

National Police Check, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement

Driver’s licence OR Reliable transport options

Availability to work occasional weekends and public holidays when required
