As a family-run business with over 40 years of experience in bespoke kitchen design and custom joinery, we specialise in creating high-end interiors for discerning Sydney homeowners, architects, builders and interior designers. This is a client-facing role combining interior design, showroom consultation and sales. You will welcome clients into our showroom, understand their vision and requirements, and guide them through the selection of premium materials, finishes, cabinetry and joinery solutions.
Working alongside our experienced design team, you will help translate ideas into considered, functional and beautifully resolved spaces. The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of high-end residential projects, from luxury kitchen renovations through to full-home joinery and indoor-outdoor living spaces. You will become an integral part of the client journey, building strong relationships and providing a personalised experience from the initial showroom visit through to design development.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate designer who has a strong eye for detail, a genuine interest in interiors and materials, and enjoys working directly with clients in a premium showroom environment.
What you will be doing:
- Lead clients through the complete design journey, from initial showroom consultation through to final installation
- Create bespoke kitchen and joinery designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, lifestyle and architectural detail
- Present and sell design solutions with confidence, guiding clients through premium materials, finishes, hardware and appliances
- Develop detailed drawings and documentation for client approval and in-house production
- Own the quoting and sales process,
from preparing accurate project pricing through to securing the project
- Collaborate directly with our in-house manufacturing team, ensuring every design is technically resolved and achievable
- Conduct site measures and final checks to ensure projects are accurately prepared for production
- Build strong relationships with homeowners and industry professionals, including architects, builders and interior designers
- Manage client communication throughout the project, ensuring a seamless experience from first enquiry to handover
- Stay across current interior design trends, materials and finishes, bringing fresh ideas and considered solutions to each project
Requirements:
- Mid-to-senior level designer
- Full-time, in-house position located at our Castle Hill offices & showroom.
- Experienced designer who can confidently manage clients and projects independently
- 3+ years’ experience in kitchen design, joinery, cabinetry or residential interior design
- Proven experience designing bespoke kitchens and/or custom joinery, ideally within a high-end residential setting
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, finishes, hardware and detailing
- Confident producing and interpreting detailed cabinetry drawings, plans, elevations and 3D designs
- Able to take a project from initial client brief through to design,
quoting, approval and production
- Strong understanding of spatial planning, functionality and design principles, with a highly considered eye for detail
- Confident working independently and managing multiple projects and client deadlines
- Previous experience in a client-facing design or sales role, with the ability to build trust and confidently guide clients through decisions
- Comfortable discussing budgets, pricing, timelines and project scope with clients
- Strong communication skills and a professional, polished presentation
- Experience liaising with builders, architects, interior designers, trades and manufacturers is highly regarded
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify practical solutions and resolve design or technical issues
- Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Sydney
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software used for kitchen/joinery design
- A genuine passion for high-end residential interiors, materials and bespoke design
Nice to have:
- Cabinet Vision or similar cabinet design/CAD software experience
- Experience designing and quoting bespoke, custom-made joinery rather than standard or flat-pack cabinetry
- Strong knowledge of stone, cabinetry materials, hardware, appliances and interior finishes
- Existing relationships or familiarity with stone suppliers, appliance brands and other premium suppliers
- Understanding of joinery manufacturing and production processes, including how design decisions translate into construction
*Please note this is an in-house role, International applicants not accepted.
