Landscape Gardener

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary - $80,000 Plus Super The Shire of Westonia is looking for an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our outdoor works team.

The role will involve maintaining and improving parks, gardens, streetscapes, recreation areas and other public spaces throughout the Shire. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work and takes pride in keeping community areas tidy, safe and well presented.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan and set out new garden and landscaped areas across Shire parks and public spaces.

· Interpret landscaping plans and determine plant, soil and material requirements.

· Construct and improve garden beds, pathways, edging and other landscape features.

· Prepare sites and soil for new landscaped areas.

· Establish new lawns through seeding, planting or laying turf.

· Select and plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants suited to local conditions.

· Install and maintain irrigation systems for landscaped areas.

· Assist with the design and delivery of new landscaping and streetscape projects.





· Construct and maintain paved, gravelled and other hard landscaped areas.

About You To be suitable for the role, you should have:

· Experience in landscaping, horticulture or a similar role.

· Relevant qualifications in landscaping, horticulture or a related field.

· Good knowledge of plant care, irrigation, pruning and garden maintenance.

· Experience using landscaping equipment and machinery.

· A practical approach to problem solving.

· The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

· A current driver's licence.

This is a full time position based in Westonia and offers the opportunity to work across a range of community parks, gardens and public spaces.
