The Opportunity An opportunity is available for a property lawyer to join an established Melbourne commercial property practice working across a varied mix of transactional property and renewable energy matters.
The role offers exposure to sophisticated property work for corporate, institutional, development and investment clients, with matters spanning acquisitions and disposals, development projects, commercial and industrial leasing, property due diligence and land arrangements supporting major energy projects.
You will work closely with experienced senior lawyers while taking increasing ownership of matters, negotiations and client relationships as your experience develops.
The Role
Your work will include a broad mix of commercial property matters, including:
- Acting on acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial and development properties.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts of sale and other transaction documents.
- Advising on commercial and industrial leasing, including agreements for lease and complex leasing arrangements.
- Assisting with property development transactions and associated land arrangements.

- Advising on easements, subdivisions, title matters and other property interests.
- Providing property support on broader corporate and commercial transactions.
- Working on land access and tenure arrangements associated with renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
- Drafting and negotiating options, leases, easements, access arrangements and other agreements required for energy developments.
- Liaising directly with clients, counterparties and other advisers throughout transactions.
The position provides the opportunity to develop experience across both traditional commercial property work and the expanding renewable energy sector.
About You
You will be an admitted lawyer (2 - 4 PQE) with experience in commercial property transactions and an interest in continuing to broaden your practice.
Ideally, your background will include experience across several of the following areas:
- Commercial property acquisitions and disposals.

- Property development transactions.
- Agreements for lease, leases and option arrangements.
- Property due diligence.
- Easements, subdivisions and land title matters.
- Land arrangements associated with energy, infrastructure or development projects.

Experience with renewable energy projects will be highly regarded, although lawyers with a strong commercial property background and a genuine interest in developing experience in this area are also encouraged to consider the opportunity.
You will also bring strong drafting and communication skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities while providing a high level of service to clients.
The Environment
You will join a collaborative commercial practice offering high-quality work, direct exposure to experienced practitioners and the chance to develop greater responsibility as you progress.
The team works with a diverse client base across property, development, investment, infrastructure and energy matters and offers a supportive environment for lawyers looking to build a broad transactional practice.
