DDC Automation is looking for a Lead Control System Engineer to take technical ownership of our control system projects and to grow the engineers around you. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will still be in the code and on site, but you will also set the standards, review the work, and be the person clients and the team turn to when they need directions.

Our works are ranges across Rockwell, Siemens and Schneider platforms, and our projects spans across greenfield installations, brownfields upgrades/expansion, and control system migrations and system optimisations

What DDC is looking for:

- Develop and maintain engineering standards, code libraries, templates and testing procedures so delivery is consistent across the team.
- Mentor intermediate and junior engineers; set technical direction, run knowledge sharing, and build capability across the group.
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for clients: scoping, options, risk and progress.
- Support management with tendering and estimation with control philosophies, scope definitions and hours.
- Uphold safety, quality and compliance obligations on every site you work on.

Role Requirements

- Degree in Electrical, Electronic,

Mechatronic or Control Systems Engineering, or a relevant trade background with equivalent industrial control system experience.
- 8 years delivering industrial control systems, including at least 2 in a lead or senior technical role.
- Strong hands-on capability across at least two of: Rockwell (Studio 5000, ControlLogix / CompactLogix, FactoryTalk View SE and ME); Siemens (TIA Portal, S7-1200 / S7-1500, WinCC); Schneider (Modicon, EcoStruxure Control Expert, AVEVA / Citect SCADA), Ignition.
- Solid grounding in industrial networks and protocols: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP and RTU, OPC UA.
- Ability to read and work from P&IDs;, loop drawings, cause and effect matrices and control philosophy.
- Proven site commissioning experience on live or brownfield plant, including fault finding under pressure.
- Explicit communicator who can explain technical decisions to clients, contractors and apprentices alike.
- Current WA driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional sites as projects require.
- Full working rights in Australia and the ability to meet client site access requirements (inductions, medicals, police clearance).

Nice to have

- Safety instrumented systems: GuardLogix, Siemens Safety, or TÜV functional safety certification.
