About the Opportunity Jenny’s Place is a leading Domestic and Family Violence organisation establishing a current specialist centre designed to provide integrated recovery support for women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence. Psychology will be a key part of this new model, working alongside broader recovery, mental health and specialist supports.

This is a part-time opportunity working three days per week, based onsite at Jenny’s Place in Warabrook, Newcastle.

As the Lead Psychologist, you will join Jenny’s Place to lead a pioneering, sector-first initiative, which will include a multidisciplinary taskforce working together to design and deliver a blueprint for transformational recovery support for some of the most vulnerable women and children in our community.

You will lead the framework design of this new program and service, centred on a blend of evidence-based methodology alongside innovation, excellence, consistency and integrity.

Leading a small, passionate team that will include child and adult psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy and specialist case work, you will provide program design leadership, qualified mentoring, quality assurance and technical oversight across the complex psychological field of domestic, family and sexual violence support.

We are looking for





- An experienced registered Psychologist, ideally with Clinical Psychology endorsement, with experience in clinical practice growth, practice leadership, supervision and general practice management.
- Passionate about coaching, mentoring and developing a multidisciplinary team.
- An innovative thinker, unafraid to build a new sector-first framework from scratch, who cares deeply about improving outcomes for women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence over the long term.
- A person committed to professional excellence, quality and evidence-based practice.
- A trusted leader who demonstrates integrity, sound judgement and accountability.

- An exceptional communicator who can engage effectively with psychologists, clients and senior stakeholders.
- A strong, disciplined leader who can provide evidence-based practice guidance across Jenny’s Place’s specialist centre for domestic violence support.
- Experienced in supporting clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development initiatives.

- Confident providing consultation on complex clinical cases and practice challenges.
- Able to contribute to clinical governance, service quality and practice development.
- Comfortable maintaining a reduced clinical caseload to support practice currency.

- Comfortable balancing operational priorities with strategic capability development.
- Motivated by meaningful work that contributes to both individual outcomes and groundbreaking service delivery.

What you need to be successful

- Full and unconditional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist.
- Clinical Psychology endorsement is preferred; however, applications from generally registered Psychologists with strong relevant experience will also be considered.
- Board-approved supervisor status.
- Master’s qualification in Clinical Psychology or Relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in Psychology.
- Previous practice leadership or supervisory experience (highly regarded).
- Experience providing specialist support to women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.




- Medicare, NDIS and Victims Services billing experience.
- Extensive experience in psychological assessment, formulation and report writing.
- Experience providing professional guidance, quality assurance and oversight of complex assessments.
- Strong understanding of ethical, professional and legislative obligations.
