We're looking for an experienced Lead SMP Designer to join Agilitus and play a key role in delivering structural, mechanical and piping design solutions across a diverse portfolio of mining, minerals processing and industrial projects. Working closely with clients, engineers and project teams, you will lead drafting and design activities, providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, compliant design outcomes that meet project objectives, budgets and schedules.

The Chance

This role will give you the opportunity to Lead and mentor a team of designers while overseeing the successful delivery of SMP design and drafting activities across a diverse portfolio of projects. You'll be responsible for team performance, resource planning, quality assurance and stakeholder management, while providing technical leadership from concept through to construction and commissioning.

- Lead, mentor and develop SMP design and drafting teams.
- Manage resources, workloads and project priorities to meet schedules and budgets.
- Deliver and review high-quality SMP design solutions in accordance with client and Agilitus standards.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Support business development, project estimating and continuous improvement initiatives.





What you'll need
- Diploma in engineering or applicable drafting traineeship (or similar)
- Ability to lead a team and provide technical support across the SMP team.
- Ability to influence others to think outside the box and thrive by promoting an environment where innovation and continuous learning is encouraged and valued.
- High level of experience and ability in use of applicable engineering design systems and software
