We work together to build a legacy that we can be proud of, supporting those in need within our communities.
Our companions are why our journey started, striving to shape a more just and compassionate society. Our employees, members and volunteers are the reason our journey continues, and why we will succeed.
What we can offer you
- Work with a purpose – not your average organisation and not your average role!
- Competitive hourly rate and excellent employment advantages under our Employee Agreement
- Salary packaging arrangements – helping you save on tax
- Access to our Employee Assistance Program – our employees are our most valuable asset
- A welcoming and inclusive environment where you’ll always feel part of a team
The Role As our Leasing Officer, you’ll play an important role in helping Vinnies Housing grow the availability of safe and sustainable housing for people in need across Queensland.
Working within the Service Enablement team, you’ll take an active role in sourcing new properties, building relationships with real estate agents and property owners, and progressing leasing opportunities from initial enquiry through to agreement. You’ll also coordinate lease renewals, documentation and compliance requirements across our growing portfolio of leased properties.
This is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership and keeping things moving.
You’ll proactively identify new property opportunities, follow up with external stakeholders, monitor upcoming lease requirements and risks, and ensure actions are progressed in a timely manner. Working closely with internal teams, real estate agents, property owners and other stakeholders, you’ll help maintain a responsive and well-managed leasing portfolio while contributing directly to Vinnies Housing’s purpose of increasing access to housing for people who need it most.
If you have experience in property, leasing, real estate, housing or contract coordination and are looking for an opportunity to apply those skills in a role with genuine community impact, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a Permanent, Full-time position (38 hours per week) based in South Brisbane.
What we are looking for
- Experience in leasing, property management or administration, real estate, housing, contract coordination, or a similar role. Experience within community housing, social housing or the not-for-profit sector is highly regarded, but not essential.
- Confidence engaging with real estate agents, property owners and other external stakeholders, with the ability to build positive working relationships and progress property opportunities.
- A proactive and self-driven approach, with the ability to take ownership, follow opportunities through and stay ahead of leasing priorities, risks and deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple properties, opportunities and competing priorities at the same time.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate lease records, documentation and compliance requirements.
- Sound judgement and the ability to identify issues, anticipate risks and escalate matters where required.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Ability to work collaboratively across a range of teams and stakeholders.
- Alignment with the mission and values of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland.
What we can offer you at Vinnies Housing
- Full training and ongoing support
- Supportive, values-based team environment
- A meaningful opportunity to create lasting social impact
