About The Role The Legal Engineer is a specialist role within our Operational Excellence team. Working within the Legal Operations function, you will drive the rollout and sustained adoption of Harvey AI across practice groups. You will partner with lawyers to design AI-enabled legal workflows, identify opportunities to redesign ways of working, and support change management and process improvement.
You will also build and connect solutions across our technology suite, including Harvey AI, DraftWise, Jigsaw and Avvoka, to deliver integrated workflow solutions that reflect how legal teams actually work. This role sits at the intersection of deep legal expertise and practical technology delivery. It is a rare opportunity to shape how a leading Australian law firm works at scale.
About You
You are a qualified Australian lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience at a highly regarded firm or in-house legal team. You have a genuine curiosity about the potential of AI to transform legal practice, combined with solid commercial acumen and a thorough understanding of how lawyers work. You have demonstrated experience using or implementing legal AI platforms in a legal or professional services environment.
You move confidently through ambiguity and operate well in a fast-paced setting. You communicate complex ideas clearly to varied audiences, including partners and senior practitioners,
and you build credibility and trust at all levels of the firm. Experience in a legal operations, knowledge management or innovation function is highly regarded.
