Phorest powers 11,000 hair and beauty salons using our software across the globe. Our aim is to capture 25% of the market globally – that’s one million salons and a billion-dollar company. We are growing and would like to add a new member to our team. You will join a group of highly motivated individuals, to help us grow Phorest faster.
The Opportunity
The Manager, Commercial role balances personal, hands-on delivery of sales targets with the strategic leadership of a high-performing team. As an established leader with proven team-leadership experience, you are responsible for interpreting the department strategy to deliver on both new business acquisition and PhorestPay expansion goals. You will lead by example - maintaining a personal sales quota while coaching your team to navigate complex deal cycles, optimise sales funnels, and maximise the lifetime value of Phorest’s premium salon, spa, and clinic accounts.
What You'll Do
Player-Coach Execution & Sales Delivery
- Maintain a personal "hands-on" delivery component, achieving a set individual sales quota and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead by example in the field, conducting high-level product demonstrations and closing complex deals within the premium sector.
- Identify and personally execute on high-value PhorestPay opportunities within the existing client base to drive expansion revenue.
Team Leadership & Strategic Alignment
- Lead and own the key business outcomes for the Sales & PhorestPay team, ensuring the group meets or exceeds regional revenue targets.
- Interpret the wider Sales department strategy and translate it into actionable team goals and monthly timeframes.
- Delegate work with discretion to a team that typically operates with a high degree of autonomy and judgment.
- Anticipate future needs, opportunities, and potential blockers within the sales pipeline to ensure consistent performance.
Coaching & Performance Management
- Act as a competent leader by coaching and supporting the team to deliver on transparent objectives.
- Get involved in the "trenches" when complex problems or difficult negotiations arise to provide expert guidance.
- Use critical thinking and data analysis (CRM insights) to interpret and improve both individual and team performance metrics.
Operational Excellence & Collaboration
- Make values-aligned decisions using good judgment and a strong understanding of Phorest’s finances and revenue goals.
- Build collaborative interdepartmental relationships, specifically with Marketing and Success, to ensure a seamless lead-to-upsell lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates to regional leadership on team performance, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
What Success Looks Like (Deliverables):
- Quota Achievement: Consistent achievement of both individual and team-wide sales and pay targets.
- Pipeline Health: A robust, data-driven pipeline with high conversion rates from initial lead to closed-won/pay.
- Functional Autonomy: The sales function operates with minimal day-to-day direction from senior leadership, seeking input only for broad strategic shifts.
- Team Development: Documented growth in the capability of direct reports, evidenced by their ability to manage autonomous deal cycles.
Who You Are
Skills
- Demonstrated success in KPI-led sales leadership (8+ years background), preferably within SaaS.
- Track record of guiding and mentoring team members, ideally in a player-coach capacity.
- Deep grasp of sales performance, revenue drivers,
and financial dynamics.
- Hands-on expertise using CRM platforms, reporting suites, and marketing automation systems.
- Ms, marketing automation, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, networking, and organisational skills.
