Manager, Cyber Risk Management
- Ongoing, full-time (35hpw)
- Clerk Grade 11/12. Package includes base salary ($154,231 - $178,369) plus superannuation and annual leave leading.
- Sydney CBD, with hybrid working conditions and a 50% office presence required. Adaptable working arrangements may be available in line with the DCS Flexible Working Policy.
About the role We are currently seeking a Manager, Cyber Risk Management to work within the Uplift, Advisory & Engagement directorate, to provide strategic leadership and cyber risk support through frameworks, guidance, reporting, and advice to enable informed risk-based decisions, increase visibility of cyber risk exposure, and strengthen organisational resilience across government and internal environments. Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of cyber risk management capabilities to support consistent, risk-informed decision-making across the organisation and its stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain cyber risk management frameworks and governance settings aligned with enterprise risk management principles, policies and decision-making requirements to support effective governance.
- Provide strategic oversight of cyber risk exposure, including guidance, oversight and integration of risk activities, to ensure risks are effectively identified, assessed and managed.
- Provide whole-of-government support for cyber risk management through frameworks, guidance, coordination and reporting activities to promote consistent, informed and effective risk management practices.
- Advise senior leaders and governance forums on risk posture, emerging threats, systemic issues and prioritisation to support informed decision-making.
- Deliver clear, consolidated and decision-ready cyber risk reporting and insights to strengthen executive oversight and strategic risk management.
- Lead risk analysis, aggregation and prioritisation, identifying systemic, thematic and emerging risks across NSW Government, including integration of third-party risk (TPRM) considerations to support prioritisation and resilience.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across government to drive consistent adoption of risk practices, influence behaviours and align risk governance and assurance outcomes to strengthen cyber risk culture.
Essential requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Risk Management, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience gained within complex organisational environments.
- Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) or higher, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment.
