Manager Cyber Governance and Compliance
- Ongoing, full-time (35hpw)
- Clerk Grade 11/12 - $154,231 to $178,369 base p/a plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Sydney CBD location, with hybrid working conditions and a 50% office presence required. Flexible working arrangements may be available in line with the DCS Flexible Working Policy.
About the role: We are currently seeking a Manager Cyber Governance and Compliance to work within the Uplift, Advisory and Engagement directorate to provide strategic cyber governance and compliance leadership and support through policy-aligned frameworks, guidance, reporting and oversight practices to promote consistent decision-making, accountability, transparency and cyber resilience across whole-of-government and internal environments. Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of cyber governance and compliance frameworks, policies and practices to ensure alignment with evolving obligations and strengthen accountability, transparency and resilience.
- Provide authoritative interpretation and guidance on cyber governance and compliance obligations to enable consistent and proportionate application across complex organisational and whole-of government environments.
- Establish and oversee governance and compliance operating models to ensure effective implementation, monitoring and assurance of compliance outcomes.
- Provide strategic advice on governance and compliance posture to inform decision-making, identify systemic issues and gaps, and guide prioritisation of improvement activities.
- Oversee the provision of governance and compliance reporting and insights to deliver clear visibility of performance, trends and emerging issues.
- Coordinate and monitor governance and compliance activities across enterprise environments to ensure alignment with organisational obligations and consistent implementation of requirements.
- Provide whole-of-government support for cyber governance and compliance through guidance, coordination, reporting and capability uplift activities to promote consistent and effective implementation of cyber security obligations.
- Build and sustain strategic stakeholder relationships and partnerships to influence alignment, strengthen accountability, and support effective governance and compliance outcomes.
Essential requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Security Compliance, IT Governance, or a related discipline, or equivalent contemporary industry experience.
- Must be an Australian Citizen with an ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance at Negative Vetting Level 1(NV1) or higher, and willingness to undergo a criminal history and identity verification and ongoing probity checks as a condition of employment.

About the team Uplift, Advisory & Engagement (UA&E;) delivers operational, strategic and policy support to Cyber Security NSW and the wider NSW Government on cyber security matters. UA&E; uplifts the cyber security posture through tailored advice, security assessments and other initiatives to drive a cyber-aware culture. About Cyber Security NSW Cyber Security NSW provides centralised services and all-of-government leadership to drive a cyber-resilient NSW Government that can safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of government systems, services and data for NSW communities.
Salary Grade 11/12, with the base salary for this role starting at $154,231 base plus superannuation
