PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Lead the development and implementation of Power and Water’s Future Networks and Customer Energy Resource (CER) strategies, including technology, systems, processes and engineering practices that ensure safe, secure and coordinated integration of CER into Power and Water’s distribution networks, isolated power systems and remote communities across the Northern Territory. You will also be responsible for ensuring systems and processes achieve compliance with regulatory obligations related to the connection of CER, managing export services and Demand Side

Management (DSM) initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The “WHAT” to be delivered

Key Result Area 1 – Strategic Management

- Manage the Power Services CER and DSM strategy. Define the future direction for adaptable connections, embedded microgrids and community batteries.

- Manage the Demand Management Innovation Allowance (DMIA) scheme for Power and Water and associated reporting.
- Manage and improve Power and Water’s CER database to make it future-ready and fit-for-purpose.
- Manage technology trials related to CER/DSM, ensuring they deliver value and clear outcomes to drive the development of long-term

strategic plans/road maps and system implementations, including in remote communities.




- Engage with external industry stakeholders appropriately to maintain effective relationships whilst managing Power and Water’s interests

in reform activities.
- Ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, on budget and to a high quality
- Manage connection related Annual Information Notices (RIN) in relation to CER, DSM and export services generally.

Key Result Area 2 – Electrical Engineering

- Manage the development and implementation of systems to support flexible connections and manage network constraints as part of the

Future Networks and CER strategies.
- Develop new specifications, class types and requirements for embedded microgrids, community batteries, and Electric Vehicle (EV)

charging infrastructure consistent with relevant codes, regulations, standards and industry best practice.
- Develop and employ strategies to enable network visibility to address network power quality issues and support the definition of hosting

capacity for CER.
- Provide technical support for the Basic Micro Embedded Generation and Micro Embedded Generation Negotiated connection processes.
- Provide engineering mentorship to professionals to enhance Power Service’s engineering capability in the areas of CER and DSM.

SELECTION CRITERIA Qualification & Skills Experience

Essential • Mandatory minimum 3 or 4 year Science or • Demonstrated experience working with Embedded
