Primary objective

Provide high‑level industry engagement, policy development and delivery support and leadership to stand up investable projects and programs across advanced manufacturing, aerospace, data/digital, and future industries workforce development. The role drives stakeholder consultation and executive briefing products, project governance, procurement, budgets and team performance so Future

Industries initiatives convert opportunities into capability, jobs and investment.

Context statement

Reporting to the Senior Director, Future Industries, the role will position the Northern Territory as a national and international region hub for investment in advanced technologies, strengthen engagement with key partners, and contribute to creating a sustainable and diversified workforce for the Territory.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Lead effective industry and stakeholder engagement, maintaining clear communication, accurate records and constructive





relationships across Government, industry and research organisations.
- Support policy development through research, analysis and preparation of briefs, submissions and presentations.
- Coordinate projects and governance processes, including planning, progress tracking, risk management and timely delivery.
- Manage procurement and contract activities and support budget management, reporting and record‑keeping.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, manage workloads, mentor others and foster a positive, high-performance culture.
- Work collaboratively across agencies and represent Future Industries in relevant meetings and forums.
- Ensure quality, compliance and continuous improvement across all work produced.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Industry engagement and delivery: Ability to lead multi‑party engagement across industry, research, investors and other stakeholders,

producing outputs such as Letters of Intent and Memoranda of Understanding, proposals or project deliverables.
- Policy and analytical capability: Demonstrated skills in developing evidence‑based options with clear issues, risks, costs and pathways,

and translating complex material into concise, decision‑ready advice.
- Project, commercial and delivery acumen: Experience coordinating workplans, budgets, contracts, risk and performance, with understanding of commercial and delivery considerations.
- Communication excellence: Solid written and verbal communication with a record of clear briefs, reports, submissions, presentations and stakeholder correspondence.
- Leadership and teamwork: Able to lead initiatives including mentoring, coordinating, and collaborating effectively across teams and organisations while managing competing priorities.
- Future industries literacy: Understanding of emerging industries and advanced technologies or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in future‑focused domains.

Desirable

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, economics, science or related disciplines.
2. Experience in research, venture investment and/or workforce development.
