Are you an experienced legal leader looking to make a meaningful impact for Queenslanders? Queensland Public Trustee (QPT) is seeking a Managing Lawyer to join our Corporate Legal Services team. In this senior leadership role, you will lead a team of legal professionals while providing sophisticated legal advice and representation across a diverse portfolio of complex legal matters.
Working closely with senior leaders, stakeholders and legal practitioners, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality legal services, manage significant litigation and advisory matters, and help shape legal strategy and decision-making across the organisation.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Brisbane to combine your legal expertise and leadership capability in a senior legal leadership role.

About You You are a highly regarded legal practitioner and people leader with extensive experience managing complex legal matters and leading legal teams. You combine sound legal judgement with robust leadership capability and excel in environments requiring strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement and effective decision-making. To excel in this role, the following attributes will be your keys to success:
- Proven experience leading and developing legal professionals in a complex legal environment.
- Demonstrated expertise providing high-level legal advice and representation across litigation, advisory and corporate legal matters.
- Strong understanding of public sector governance, statutory obligations and ethical decision-making.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and provide trusted advice at senior levels.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement with clients, courts, tribunals, counsel and external stakeholders.
- A commitment to professional excellence, people leadership and values-based service delivery.
Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a degree in Law or equivalent.
- Admission, or eligibility for immediate admission, as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland and entry in the High Court Register of Practitioners.
- Eligibility to hold a Practising Certificate issued by the Queensland Law Society.
