Workforce Extensions is seeking a reliable and safety-focused MRF Quality Sorter to support operations at a busy Materials Recycling Facility within the Shoalhaven region. This role is key to ensuring high-quality recycling outcomes and supporting Council’s waste and resource recovery services.
About the Role
Working within the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), you will help maximize recycling outcomes by identifying and removing contamination from the processing stream. Your work will directly contribute to environmental sustainability and compliance with waste management standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort recyclable materials and remove contamination from processing lines
- Support efficient operation of plant and equipment within the MRF
- Assist with basic maintenance and daily operational checks
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Complete required documentation and report hazards or equipment issues
- Follow all WHS policies and Council procedures
Essential Requirements
- Certificate II in Waste Management (desirable)
- Experience in waste, recycling or resource recovery operations
- Strong understanding of recyclable materials and contamination risks
- Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety practices
- White Card (mandatory)
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Basic computer skills
- Full working rights in Australia
- All candidates MUST undertake a pre-employment medical including a Drug & Alcohol test
Desirable
- Experience operating conveyors, balers, or fixed plant equipment
- Understanding of recycling commodities
- Local government experience
