Join our Confluence Maintenance team as a Mechanical Fitter, where you'll play a key role in delivering planned and reactive maintenance at Sydney Water’s Manly Wastewater Treatment Plant in North Head.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical trades professional to build a rewarding career in the water industry. The role reports to the Site Works Supervisor, Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30pm. As part of the role, you will also participate in an on-call roster, providing after hours support for one week every 6-8 weeks.

Key Accountabilities

- Carry out maintenance, repairs and servicing including dosing systems, pumps, valves and associated mechanical equipment
- Perform planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, complete repairs, conduct inspections, install equipment and carry out testing to ensure reliability of the plant
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and operational standards while delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes

About You

- Hold a mechanical trade qualification, or an engineering qualification,



with experience in the water and wastewater industry being highly regarded
- Driver’s licence
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with pump and valve maintenance, and strong fault finding and trouble shooting skills
- The ability to undertake physically demanding field-based work
- Resilient, adaptable and able to effectively manage competing priorities in a energetic operational environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively within a small trade team
- Dogging certification or willingness to obtain
