Goss Engineering is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Mechanical Fitter with a background in Hydraulics to join our staff on a full-time basis. GOSS Engineering are expanding our workforce at multiple sites in the Hunter Valley; hence a full-time role is on offer.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Work is a blend of Workshop/Site and Project work
- Equipment and system installation, auditing systems for performance
- Identification and rectification of defects
- Act as a Team Leader for larger jobs to drive completion of works
- Recent equipment builds within the workshop
- Pump testing and repairs
- Train and mentor apprentices and junior staff
Essential Criteria: · Cert III in Engineering, Mechanical Trade
· Current Drivers licence
· Ability to work unassisted and within strict timeframes
· Ability to adhere to zero drug and alcohol protocols and accept regular drug and alcohol testing.
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Sound commitment to safety
· A willingness to undertake up to 12-hour days in the Upper Hunter.
· Previous Mine Site experience.
· Australian Resident
Qualifications & attributes:
- Cert IV Engineering, Fluid Power (Preferable but not essential)
- Experience with hydraulics and fluid control (Preferable but not essential)
- Experience with IBEX Installation (Preferable but not essential)
- Solid grasp of system trouble shooting, identification, and rectification
- Ability to supervise colleagues or collaborate with a supervisor onsite
- Professional manner when communicating with clients
- A keen eye for details and pride in your work
· Current Working at Heights Certificate (within 2 years)
· Current EWP High Risk Licence
· Current Confined Spaces and Gas testing (within 2 years)
· TRG Safe Welding onsite Certificate.
· Lives in or around the Hunter Valley
