- Full-time, residential prospect based in Broome, at the gateway to the Kimberley.
- Experience a diverse range of clinical medicine that's both challenging and rewarding, delivering essential rural and remote health care in some of the most geographically isolated areas in the world.
- Base salary $314,310, with a total package up to $562,073, including free furnished housing, a vehicle and allowances.
- Aeromedical experience desirable but not essential.
About the team The RFDS WA Medical team delivers critical care for both aeromedical and interhospital patient transfers across one of the largest and most remote health jurisdictions in the world. Based in Broome, you'll work alongside RFDS doctors, nurses, pilots, coordination centre teams, regional hospitals, and offshore rotary retrieval work, in a team where every case matters and every day looks different.
About the role
- Part of the critical care team providing essential clinical care as part of interhospital and primary retrieval.
- Remote telehealth provision to isolated communities and individuals.
- Take part in ongoing education, clinical governance and quality improvement.
About you
- Registration, or eligibility for registration, with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Minimum five years' postgraduate experience, including emergency medicine, anaesthesia and acute paediatrics.
- Confidence managing critically ill and injured patients independently, including procedural skills relevant to critical care medicine.
- Strong communication, teamwork and clinical judgement in complex and remote environments.
Desirable:
- FACEM, FANZCA, FCICM, FACRRM, FRACGP or an equivalent fellowship.
- ICU experience.
- Obstetric experience.
- Aeromedical or pre-hospital retrieval experience.
- Regional or remote practice experience.
